Robert Elmore was Organist and Music Director of Tenth Church for 15 years. He was also a composer, Dean of the Philadelphia AGO, Organist for The Philadelphia Orchestra, and a teacher/performer of renown.

 

Tenth joins with the American Guild of Organists to present an organ recital celebrating Elmore's 100th birthday, played by one of his former students, Norman Mackenzie, who assisted him at Tenth, and is currently Director of Choruses for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

Robert Plimpton, a former Elmore pupil, is one of the greatest champions of his music. We are also delighted to welcome back Wheaton College president, Dr. Philip G. Ryken.

Dr. Liam Goligher will read the Scripture lessons and offer a brief Christmas meditation. The Tenth Choir will present anthems, and the congregation will sing carols. These candlelight services capture the beauty and mystery of the Incarnation.  (No nursery provided; please plan accordingly.)
